In December 2010 Conquest Mining approved the development of an open pit mine at Mt Carlton, 150km south of Townsville. In late 2011 after assisting the Owner oversee the design being undertaken by others, Larpro was awarded the Construction Management contract for the construction of the process plant and associated infrastructure in December 2011. Subsequent to this Larpro undertook the balance of detailed design leading to completion of the plant design and construction.
Construction and commissioning works were completed in March 2013.
In October 2013, Evolution Mining was named Queensland Miner of the Year at the Mining 2013 Resources Convention for the successful development of the new Mt Carlton mine.
